▶ CHARACTER
NAME: Alfred F. Jones / United States of America.
CANON: Axis Powers Hetalia.
CANON POINT: End of the Year 2019.
AGE: Physically and mentally 19; Actually 243 after his "rebirth" when America became independent.
BACKGROUND: As the youngsters say nowadays, YEET.
PERSONALITY:
First off, America is very much an in-your-face type of character. He's often loud and boisterous, everybody he knows recognizes his voice and laughter before he's even in sight. Yes, probably the most obvious qualities of Alfred's personality is his incredible loudness and energy. It's practically unreal how energetic and noisy he can be; he's like a big kid, really, and taking that into account, he's very much naive still. However, he will not admit how naive he is and try to impress other with his knowledge by lying or pretending he knows exactly what you're talking about or what he, himself, is actually doing when sometimes he really doesn't. This is all part of him being incredibly egotistical, along with wanting to fit in and accepted by everybody by impressing them. His ego is, in fact, one of the largest in the Hetalia cast, and he makes no effort to really hide it. This usually consists of boasting and bragging, but also by the way he considers himself the first and very best in possibly everything ever. Yep. That's America.
It can get irritating sometimes at how dense he can be if his curiosity doesn't. Alfred usually sticks his nose and gets involved in everybody's business when it really isn't relevant to him only to know more and all around bring attention to himself. The reason for this is he mainly wants to impress other people as previously stated, or somehow bring glory to himself, other than actually caring for them. Yeah. He can be an asshole at times and not even realize it. Evidence for this is getting involved in politics he's not a part of, or meddling with other countries and their business (as demonstrated in an episode where America interrupted England performing black magic.) You could be standing there and talking to somebody for some time before he pops up and questions what you're doing, who you are, explain who he is, etc, etc-- all very fast paced and hard to comprehend sometimes. It's hard to understand him sometimes, and Alfred doesn't even take notice to that or take time to cool his jets. Trust me, he's a lot.
Alfred is stubborn like an ox and will often put things in denial for his pride's sake, even if it doesn't make sense. He's very much independent in his own mind, and will reject most help that is offered to him on the first try. This is caused by some odd independent complex he developed after the revolution. However, he'll eventually open up and allow assistance, but quickly cover up with an excuse like "I'm only letting you do this because you're so and so-- I'm independent!" He'll allow others to assist him but "only because they're my backup, and somebody needs to be the hero."
A lot of the time, Alfred will do things just to bring attention and praise to himself, especially if he can see himself benefiting from it.. which leads to his arrogance. Oh boy, is Alfred arrogant. Everything revolves around America. He's inconsiderate and often rude without really realizing it, usually shown by his constant "me" talk, or being very demanding and whining towards other people he is in contact with.
All that negativity aside, Alfred has a bunch of good aspects too. He will have these in depth moments of concern and care towards an individual and show extreme loyalty to them depending on the situation. If somebody needs help and he's not preoccupied, you can count on Alfred to be helpful in that way and hardworking. It's pretty easy to be his friend, and once you have reached a level of friendship, he will usually stick by you since he's rather desperate for friendships and being accepted.
He's usually a perky and happy person, which sometimes can spread and affect others. If his chattering doesn't irritate a person, you can guarantee he'll talk to you and be hospitable, sometimes not leaving you alone.
His hero complex is another thing. He's very obsessive about heroes, or explosions, food, sci-fi things.. he very much fixates on certain things to occupy his mind. I guess you could call it a catch phrase, but he often says "cause I'm a hero!" as an excuse for things, even if it makes no sense. The very mentioning of the word will peek his interest, if not have him barge into your private conversation.
There are a few subjects Alfred is sensitive about, and that's mainly talk about the American Revolution, which he still holds grudges about, and which is still a sad thing for him to dwell on as demonstrated in the series when he had to clean out his closet; a sign he gets very nostalgic. However, he will not admit that, and say he regrets nothing, mainly to comfort himself. Other topics include his hypersensitive reaction to talk about his weight or the mentioning of supernatural beings, namely ghosts. Both upsetting topics have been shown in the series such as when he visited countries to learn how to diet since England convinced him he was fat, or when he proceeded to watch a scary movie with Japan so he could "piss himself." Nothing else really scares him too much, showing immense bravery and heroic demeanor, but anything about ghosts will have him crying, and any teasing over his weight will upset him immensely. Even if you're just using the word "big" to describe something else about him-- or even something not even relevant to him, he will still easily get offended by the silliest things.
People consider America to be unintelligent, when that really isn't the case. He's very smart, particularly with computers and science considering some of the most successful inventions come from America. However, consider him to be ignorant about a subject if it doesn't concern him because frankly, he really doesn't care unless it does in most cases. That is why he doesn't care about what the European map looks like besides the fact that "it has a giant boot on it!"
POWERS/ABILITIES:
✓ Super-Strength: It's known that America can at least lift a car with his strength— just holding the front bumper with his hand and dragging it around. He can lift heavy objects and started doing this at a young age when he would wrestle buffalo as a kid. America has stopped a moving vehicle with his toes alone.
✓ Tech & Space Savvy: He especially helped Estonia seek out who was responsible for hacking the internet in season 5. This also goes hand and hand with science knowledge and the ability to invent little trinkets. America would be able to hack a computer to a certain limit and understand how to code certain technologies. Also, y'know, he's been to the moon.
✓ Weapon Knowledge: He's used a lot of guns and explosives in his time, so count him in if it means blowing something up.
✓ Nation-Immorality: Nations cannot die by typical means as a human would, but rather die when their land masses change to another and their culture is completely lost. They are also fast healing when they are injured.
INVENTORY:
✓ (1.) Vintage bomber jacket from the 1940's.
✓ (2.) A Nintendo Switch with Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
✓ (3.) An AK-47. Just.. because.
✓ (4.) Sidekick alien companion, Tony. (He is small, maybe just under three feet.. I brought him last time I apped.)
✓ (5.) Extra ammo.
✓ (6.) An electric guitar.
MOONBLESSING: Sanguis (Golden Retriever.)

CHARACTER INFO.
✖ Character Name: Alfred F. Jones - The United States of America.
✖ Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia. Present times, 2014.
✖ Character Appearance: WWII Outfit | Casual | Official Artwork
✖ Character Age: Technically America is a little bit older than 237. He was a colony for awhile and was very young. When he grew up in his very early teenage years was when he went through a rebirth process in 1776. Although he has lived and seen things through these years, he ages very slowly. America is built physically and mentally to be 19 years old.
✖ Pick A Number: 050 and 176.
✖ Canon Setting:
Axis Powers Hetalia is a manga and anime series based off of country history & culture with stereotype humor. Every main and relevant character is a country personified taking on their traits and having their history as their life and memory. Nation representatives usually look like their citizens and use historic events to make up their personalities along with stereotype assumptions of that particular country. Their world is just like ours and they interact with real historical figures throughout the years.
The series started with World War I and then primarily takes place in World War II. Eventually, the comic strips began to be modernized as the writer draws how he thought these Nations reacted during certain events in history. It's a 4-panel comic with fast moving humor. It basically makes a joke, then moves on to the next strip without any kind of chronological order. It's kind of a chaotic series to read and watch, but it brings up little fun facts about a country's history or culture without being offensive.
Nations live alongside their citizens and often engage in political events & wars to assist their country landmass and people as much as possible. They are given both a human name and also go by their country name. They age very slowly and are free to interact with humans. This is probably why they are also given a human name to use. They react to major events in history such as a poor economy can cause a Nation to get a "cold" since they are connected to their landmasses and their citizens. Citizens' personalities and reactions to various things can also make up Nations' personalities. For instance, France is very flirtatious because the French have a reputation for being romantic. They take on these traits that coincide with their citizens' behavior and culture of living.
Certain areas on a Nation's body can represent their landmasses. For example, America has a stray clump of hair that is called Nantucket, and his glasses represent Texas. It is similar to South Korea's Seoul which is a stray hair as well.
Nations are often seen wearing suits and holding meetings with one another and are sometimes forced to do things they may not personally want, such as getting along with an enemy representatives because the two presidents want to sign a treaty. Nations must do what their presidents or superiors tell them to do. It's almost as if it is a requirement in order for a historic event or agreement to take place.
Nations live their lives for what seems to be forever. Even if their landmass dissipates or is overthrown by another country, they manage to survive (see Prussia). The only way they can actually die is if their people and culture and empires die after many years. The author gives a lot of room for interpretation, especially with areas of history and culture he hasn't touched.
✖ Character History: I have busted my butt and written out some American history for you guys and how Alfred reacted to it.
It can be read here.
Otherwise, here are some shorter links if these will suffice:
Hetalia Wiki: America ★ Wikipedia: History of the United States
✖ Character Personality:
Often loud and boisterous, everybody he knows recognizes his voice and laughter before he's even in sight. Yes, probably the most obvious qualities of Alfred's personality is his incredible loudness and energy. It's practically unreal how energetic and noisy he can be; he's like a big kid, really, and taking that into account, he's very much naive still. Being naive, you will get a lot of curious question marks or bad interpretation when communicating with him. Asking childish or stupid questions are one thing he does a lot.
Evidence for this is getting involved in wars he's not a part of, or meddling with other countries and their business (as demonstrated in an episode where America interrupted England performing black magic.) You could be standing there and talking to somebody for some time before he pops up and questions what you're doing, who you are, explain who he is, etc, etc-- all very fast paced and hard to comprehend sometimes. It's hard to understand him sometimes, and Alfred doesn't even take notice to that or take time to cool his jets.
Another trait that is obvious is his complaining, seeing as he is pretty much a wealthy and spoiled nation. When things don't quite go his way, he'll complain and complain and complain and complain instead of trying to find a solution first. After awhile of procrastinating, America will finally work hard to find a solution to his problem, usually jumping the gun and taking the easiest route out. Speaking of jumping the gun, he very much bases his decisions on an act of impulse in most cases instead of sitting down and thinking things through first, which leads him into even more trouble, and MORE complaining, until he's just outright furious and having a tantrum like a kid. Oh, and he won't blame himself-- for anything. It's usually a "Communist" or "England's" fault. This is possibly because he does his deal of grudge holding, which is another immature and negative trait in regards to his personality.
He's extremely paranoid, especially of other nations when they threaten him. In fact, he will refuse to breathe the same air of a Communist, more specifically members of the former USSR (an exaggeration, but you get the idea.) If he senses danger on himself, he will think of himself only and do whatever he can to protect himself-- first. This is often countered by his hero complex where he thinks he has to save everything ever in order to feel satisfied. It's a handy trait for him to have, actually, except when he gets annoying or in the way. Rescuing himself is a priority, though he wouldn't mind dying or getting injured in the at of heroism, or doing something noble just to obtain glory and self satisfaction...
Which leads me to his arrogance. Oh boy, is Alfred arrogant. Everything revolves around America. He's inconsiderate and often rude without really realizing it, usually shown by his constant "me" talk, or being very demanding and whining towards other people he is in contact with.
Even if he shows signs of flirtation, it's all just him trying to be the bees knees and show off. He's really not that romantic. The last thing he wants to think about is a relationship with somebody, to be honest. He would much rather blow stuff up or shoot at things or play video games or something. If anything, you'll get awkward, inexperienced flirting from him, followed by cockiness after wards. Think of it as a hormonal teenager who just had sex; that would be America. Just a baby in comparison to the other nations.
He's very obsessive about heroes, or explosions, food, sci-fi.
All that aside, I'll also make note America is spontaneous and will do things without rhyme or reason, usually just because he's "bored", or seemed like a good idea at the time. Examples of such ideas is refusing to wear clothes for a day, or putting gun powder into a toilet and setting it a light for his amusement. Alfred has to constantly be entertained, or else he would flip tables and do whatever he can at the time to be occupied. At times such as these you see his unearthly amount of immaturity, but also a sort of endearing way of creativity.
✖ Character Powers & Skills:
Super-Strength ★ It's known that America can at least lift a car with his strength— just holding the front bumper with his hand and dragging it around. He probably can pick the entire car up if he tried, but would not be able to throw it. America is very strong and rather built, but he's just a little bit out of shape.
Tech-Savvy ★ He especially helped Estonia seek out who was responsible for hacking the internet in season 5. This also goes hand and hand with science knowledge and the ability to invent little trinkets. America would be able to hack a computer to a certain limit and understand how to code certain technologies.
Weapon Knowledge ★ He's used a lot of guns and explosives in his time, so count him in if it means blowing something up.
Nation-Immorality ★ As I have previously explained, Nations live and die differently than humans. He's a hard fella to get rid of, but will abide by the "4 times you're dead" rule.
CHARACTER SAMPLES.
✖ First Person POV: CDC ★ TEST DRIVE | RATE DAT ASS: AMERICA + STEVE ROGERS (no really this is great.)
✖ Third Person POV:It was an average evening at a place no other than... McDonald's. Yeah, the place with all the happenings. That was McDonald's for you in the heart of Washington, D.C. Alfred was a regular here and a crowd favorite for this particular restaurant— he liked to order a lot of food in big portions.
It was his day off. A day off from political duties— a day off from engaging in any war tactics— a break from being a Nation. It was days like this blended in with his people and watched them silently. There was just something very special about being able to kick back and relax, especially with his hectic schedule.
Alfred was oblivious to the sounds around him. He was listening to music and really getting in touch with the newest hits. It was one of his favorite things to see what his people were doing and he always tried to keep up to date with the newest media.. and what better way to do it than taking a big, whopping bite out of a juicy hamburger. His bold, boyish lashes fanned shut. It was simple bliss. Really. Nothing was better than days like this when he could wear his casual clothes and feel on top of the world.
Though, right now, he was on top of the hood of his car in the McDonald's parking lot. The summer weather was just too nice to ignore.
He did not even hear the foot steps behind him, but felt the hand on his shoulder of a man. He looked a bit battered up and wore all black, but when Alfred felt his touch on his shoulder, he instantly pulled the earbuds out of his ear and adjusted his posture.
"Hey man! What's up? What can I do you for?"
"I need your help. We need your help," the man said in a hushed tone. It seemed very sketchy, but Alfred was more than happy to assist.
"Do you love your country? Your people?" the man asked. Alfred quirked a brow upward. This guy specifically used the term his people. What the hell was that supposed to mean? Alfred knew well enough what it meant, but he couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that somebody knew that these American people.. were his people. Was it a coincidence? His verbage? Or something a bit more.. ominous.
America slipped off of his car and landed on his feet so he was level with this individual. He wasn't quite this stranger's height, but he looked him straight in the face with the biggest amount of sunshine he could muster on his face.
"Uh, yeah, man! Of course I do!" Of course, America was skeptical.
"What's with the shady as heck super-duper mysterious presence?"
The man chuffed a bit of laughter.
"It is who I am. Do you have a problem with that?"
"Well, no, but the way you're talking is kinda freaky. Sorry about that, man. I still don't quite understand."
"The only thing you need to understand is the fact that your world— your people— everything you love and admire here on this planet. It will soon not be here unless you— YOU specifically save them!"
Alfred cocked his head to his shoulder.
"Haha, yeah! Of course I will save them! I'm the hero of course, but I would like to—"
"Is that a yes? Will you do it? Will you save your people?"
"Fuck YEAH, I will! But could you at least do a little more explaining? I don't see anybody in danger right now!"
The stranger appeared pleased with a side smirk, his arm slipping smoothly around Alfred's broad shoulders. His other hand outstretched to shake America's, and before he could register what was occurring, it was far too late.
CHARACTER ITEMS.
✖ Pick a Team: Actually going with BLUE. Although America would also fit very well on the green team, he really loves to take charge and make decisions for EVERYONE. He's pretty smart when it comes to the smartsy side of things such as computers and science, but is a little boisterous when it comes to calling the shots and taking action instead of thinking things through. On top of that, working with the medical is something he would enjoy since he loves saving people so much.
✖ Reason for Joining the CDC: To save the world and be the ultimate hero, of course!
✖ Mission Freebie: To have his righteous alien companion, Tony, here with him. Tony is not a character that can be applied for, but he is sentient (somewhat...) and will be played by me if this request is accepted. If not, he'll take a Beretta 9mm semiautomatic with limited ammo.
✖ Personal Item or Weapon: His bomber jacket that he wore in WWII.
✖ Character Inventory:CD cover outfit.

Name: Alfred F. Jones / America.
Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia.
PB/Image: WWII Outfit | Casual | Official Artwork
Info links: Wiki Link: Hetalia Series | Hetalia Wiki: America
Canon Point: Current times, 2013.
Gender & Sex: Male/Male.
Age: Technically he is 237 years old as of this July 4th of this year. However, he is bodily and mentally aged as about 19 according to canon.
Birthdate/Sign: Birthdates are sort of different and interesting in Hetalia. It is usually on a very important date that is considered their birthday. In America's case, his birthday is July 4th, 1776. Even if he technically existed then, he was declared independent and went through a sort of re-birthing process from colonial America to independent America. This makes him a Cancer sign.
Tattoo: 3 inches wide, 2.5 inches height across his right pectoral right under his collarbone.
Suitability: Considering America is a very young country who is also a superpower, I would say he is pretty independent and can handle certain situations. He broke away from England's rule at a very young age and still insists on taking leadership as demonstrated in the series. For a nation so youthful in comparison to the rest, he has certainly developed to be a very important individual in the nation world, and all on his own. It's explained he grew up faster than any of the other countries in a brief strip where England comes home and finds America his height when he was a child when he left. In this time, he went through the hardships of developing his own government and law that upholds freedom, but also brought many clever inventions into the world. Yep. America can take care of himself, even if he sticks his nose in business and gets in trouble.
The lifestyle in Zodion will be interesting. It is definitely something he can warm up to, but it may be problematic at first since new things unnerve him. However, America is all about progressing forward and change. He will adapt soon enough and find the idea of sleeping around pretty awesome... once he knows what he is doing. (He'll use tome tips France gave him during the Revolutionary War, sure.)
Power: America will have no canon power or anything of that nature. Instead, he will take the healing power from the water elements.
Personality:
Often loud and boisterous, everybody he knows recognizes his voice and laughter before he's even in sight. Yes, probably the most obvious qualities of Alfred's personality is his incredible loudness and energy. It's practically unreal how energetic and noisy he can be; he's like a big kid, really, and taking that into account, he's very much naive still. Being naive, you will get a lot of curious question marks or bad interpretation when communicating with him. However, he will not admit how naive he is and try to impress other with his knowledge by lying or pretending he knows exactly what you're talking about or what he, himself, is actually doing when he really doesn't.
It can get irritating sometimes at how dense he can be, if his curiosity doesn't. Alfred usually sticks his nose and gets involved in everybody's business when it really isn't relevant to him. The reason for this is he mainly wants to impress other people as previously stated, or somehow bring glory to himself, other than actually caring for them. Evidence for this is getting involved in wars he's not a part of, or meddling with other countries and their business (as demonstrated in an episode where America interrupted England performing black magic.) You could be standing there and talking to somebody for some time before he pops up and questions what you're doing, who you are, explain who he is, etc, etc-- all very fast paced and hard to comprehend sometimes, and he's blissfully unaware he has a hard time communicating.
Alfred is stubborn like an ox and will often put things in denial for his pride's sake, even if it doesn't make sense. He's very much independent in his own mind, and will reject most help that is offered to him on the first try. This is caused by some odd independent complex he developed after the revolution. However, he'll eventually open up and allow assistance, but quickly cover up with an excuse like "I'm only letting you do this because you're so and so-- I'm independent!" He'll allow others to assist him but "only because they're my backup."
If anything, you'll get awkward, inexperienced making out with him, followed by cockiness after wards. Think of it as a hormonal teenager who just had sex; that would be America.
He's very obsessive about heroes, or explosions, food, sci-fi.

Being taken away from his bedside before an important meeting with his leader that day was not what America expected when he woke drowsily from his slumber. At first, America writhed, cringing as he felt a burning sensation over his chest. Eh, It was probably heartburn or something of that nature. Most health conditions he sort of shrugged off, and as of late, he kept coming down with a sickness, so it was nothing to much to be fussed about.
It was only when the pain intensified, and he realized this wasn't over his heart, but on the other side of his chest. America sat up, taking a moment to clench and rub over his skin where the mark had formed, pearly whites gritting as he felt himself etched into a brand.
When the feeling subsided, America peered down at his new addition to his tanned skin, and his brows reached above his forehead.
"69!? Hahahaha, no shit! That's... hilarious!"
It was typical for him to take things lightheartedly at first and find amusement in it, but as America gradually gathered his thoughts, the more he felt insecure. America fell back on his pillow, seeming rather amused with his circumstance as he chuckled, slowly regaining his consciousness and awareness. Maybe.. this wasn't the greatest of all situations. At this revelation, worry slowly crept across his face as he shifted, thinking quietly to himself as to what sort of happened. His memory is blank. This was not good. This instantly meant to him that he was threatened, and somebody was after him.
Panic rushed over him in an abrupt wave, blue eyes scanning over the paintings and visuals on the ceiling. He was completely awake now.
America sat up again, frantically looking about the room.
"No-- but seriously! Hah, what the hell is this!? Dude, if I've totally been abducted by aliens or something like that, now isn't the time for this! I've got an important meeting to attend to the next day! Surely this isn't Tony's fault, hahah-- right?"
America was talking to himself. It was a frequent occurrence for him to blurt out his inner thoughts into speech. Somehow, this made him feel a little but more comforted, or that he was some kind of major action hero spouting off important dialogue for the viewers. Yeah.
He stood to his feet, looking around and gathering whatever belongings he possessed. Some sort of weird device followed by a letter. Never mind the fact he was in Superman PJ bottoms.
The letter was skimmed, seeing as about a few lines into reading it he found it boring, but also the fact that it sent him into a panic. In no time, he was running out the door and into the city, adrenaline pumping through his body.
Help save a city? Sure. He's game for helping and saving people. But first, he had a million questions to ask, and he would soon find that out by contacting those on the other side of the device he had obtained.

GENERAL ✖ OPT OUT.
America has a tendency to break the fourth wall and recognize characters that are especially popular in American pop culture or movie actors. You've been warned, especially if you come from the superhero verse or you're a character who is played by a famous actor. If you're uncomfortable with America recognizing who you are or what series you're from, please leave me a note right here and I'll make him play dumb for you guys! No worries!
Also, if for whatever reason you have an issue with me tagging you with America, you can pm me or let me know here. I know he can be pretty obnoxious and sometimes offensive.
Anonymous screening is on (for whatever reason.)
